finished habibi. it was beautiful.
For a long while, I dismissed graphic novels. I always thought that they were childish and were inferior to written texts. However one day I saw Habibi on a display case and curiosity took hold of me. I bought it and read the entire thing from cover to cover in a single day. I must say that this graphic novel is one of the most touching pieces of literature that I have ever read. It’s timeless theme of self-sacrifice for the ones that you love is both heart wrenching and inspiring. Along with Persepolis and The Photographer, this is one of my favorite graphic novels.
